CITTIO WatchTower uses the Automation Stack to automatically
discover new devices, interpret services that should
be monitored, and start tracking performance and availability,
eliminating the burden of manual configuration.
Using cutting edge algorithms and discovery utilities,
the Automation Stack performs OS fingerprinting to automatically
profile devices on the network, the OS running on those
devices, and the IP address and the DNS of each device.
After discovery and OS fingerprinting of a node, WatchTower performs a capabilities scan and identifies all running software or services on that specific device
WatchTower automatically collects asset information
as part of its discovery process and provides asset
reports containing a list of all nodes that WatchTower
has discovered and the asset information that corresponds
to those nodes. This asset information can be manually
updated to include location, warranty and purchase information.
Many customers use WatchTower to perform IT inventory
assessments because the process is so easy and automated.
