monitoring (NSM) software that was built for relatively static
groups of servers and networking equipment, CITTIO WatchTower
is fundamentally automated to drastically reduce manual activities and provide rapid time to value and a low TCO.
The manual nature of traditional NSM offerings are
why a 2007 Network Computing Reader poll indicated that
70% of NSM deployments are never finished (see right).
While this type of manual approach to configuration
was acceptable in datacenters that remained relatively
static over time, today’s modern datacenters and
networks are constantly evolving and adapting to meet
the needs of the business.

CITTIO solutions bridge
the silos that exist within many IT organizations to provide overall IT infrastructure performance
and availability visibility - and end the finger pointing. To do this CITTIO uses industry standards including SNMP (simple network monitoring protocol), IP/FIX and IPMI. CITTIO will not replace the management
tools each department has in place to resolve problems, change configurations and perform maintenance – those are still essential but don't provide the holistic view CITTIO does.
