CITTIO® WatchTower® provides you with single pane
of glass visibility into your IT infrastructure
performance and availability by enabling real-time monitoring
of your networks, systems, applications and databases. Release
3.1 improves WatchTower by adding enterprise-class features,
integrating security and monitoring, supporting new devices/platforms
and improving usability WatchTower. Release 3.1 build upon
our prior release which delivered role-based business process
views and multitenancy, topology and port mapping, and business
process performance pollers.
Root Cause Analysis and Alarm Suppression utilizes real-time polling and designated root cause topology maps to determine network node reachability. It analyzes all paths leading from the Watchtower server to the affected node to identify a root cause (if one exists), and can suppress notification on sympathetic/affected nodes where action is not required. Rather than simply generating periodic node status reports, this feature continuously evaluates each device and keeps node status continually updated on all WatchTower displays.
WatchTower 3.1 provides an automatic network topology discovery and mapping feature that automates the time-consuming process of manually detecting the interconnectivity of each node on your network. This feature offers a rapid, easy process for depicting complex networks using automated link layer technology and provides administrators with accurate data for performing network expansion, support and maintenance. CITTIO delivers automated topology discovery and mapping as a “preview” feature to early adopters.
CITTIO Database Monitor is a new add-on module to extend WatchTower capabilities beyond monitoring nodes and devices—into monitoring databases. Using a centralized, agentless approach; Database Monitor interacts directly with databases using JDBC and SQL queries to avoid cumbersome database agents. Database Monitor uses key database parameters to recognize indicators of performance degradation or impending outages, and then automatically notifies the appropriate resource so problems can be quickly resolved. Because it doesn’t use agents, Database Monitor enables centralized management of databases and database queries to let you view health and business statistics across databases, perform analysis and manipulation of SQL query results and act on either.
WatchTower Analytics is an enterprise-class data warehouse for end user reporting, data mining and visualizing of the performance data collected by WatchTower. Analytics facilitates aggregation of data from multiple WatchTower servers and external data sources. Once aggregated, the data can be analyzed and shared using standard reports, custom reports or online dashboards. The result is a complete business intelligence platform for your applications, network and systems infrastructure so you can more proactively manage your infrastructure performance and capacity.
Organizations such as financial services, online businesses, and many government agencies understand the importance of network health and security. Yet until recently, the main facilitating agent of network monitoring and management—Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)—has lacked critical features that keep network traffic secure. WatchTower 3.1 offers the full power of the latest iteration of the SNMP standard, SNMPv3, to securely monitor all of the nodes/devices on your network whether local or even remote over a public network.
CITTIO has integrated WatchTower in 3.1 with eIQnetworks SecureVue and ESA to enable enterprises to collaborate across their Network Operations Centers (NOC’s) and Security Operations Centers (SOC’s) to monitor their infrastructure, secure it from intrusion and comply with industry regulations. By integrating eIQnetworks leading IT security, risk and audit management platform into WatchTower, enterprises can see in one web portal the complete status of their IT infrastructure to improve collaboration between network, security and compliance teams. The integration means volumes of log, vulnerability, configuration, asset, performance and flow data are available and accessible along with built-in network behavioral anomaly (NBA) for automatically profiling flow data to identify anomalies. Additionally, a comprehensive compliance library - containing more than 5,000 control objectives – is available and maps directly to specific regulations, best practices and control frameworks.
